Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or otherwise using PaceMap (the "Service") you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old and able to form a binding contract under the laws of your jurisdiction. If you are under 18, you must have a parent or guardian's permission to use the Service.
3. Your account
- Provide accurate sign-up details and keep them up to date.
- Keep your password secret; you're responsible for activity that takes place under your account.
- Tell us promptly at legal@pacemap.tech if you believe your account has been compromised.
4. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Upload content you don't own or have permission to share.
- Harass, threaten, or impersonate other users.
- Scrape, crawl, or automate access to the Service or its API without prior written permission.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to derive source code.
- Falsify GPS data or activity records to manipulate leaderboards or social features.
- Use the Service for anything unlawful or that would harm other users.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of activity data, photos, comments, and other content you submit. You grant PaceMap a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display that content as needed to operate the Service (for example, showing your activities to your followers in the feed). This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where retention is required by law.
6. Intellectual property
The PaceMap name, logo, design, and source code are owned by PaceMap. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use them beyond what's necessary to use the Service.
7. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, abuse the Service, or expose us to legal risk. You may delete your account at any time from Edit Profile → Delete Account; the deletion is immediate.
8. No warranty
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that activity, distance, pace, or GPS data will be accurate. Do not rely on PaceMap for safety-critical decisions.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PaceMap will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, or data, arising from or in connection with your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence).
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service.
11. Changes to these Terms
If we make material changes we'll notify you in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
